Chinese Bhel🥙

Chinese bhel has sweet, tangy and spicy taste. This recipe of Chinese bhel is too delicious and tastes exactly like a street style chaat snack. In Chinese bhel, fried crispy noodles are used with stir fried veggies and a few sauces.


  1. Hakka noodles boiled - 2 cups

  2. Cornflour - 2 tbsp

  3. Oil for frying

  4. Cabbage - 1/2 cup shredded

  5. Carrots - 2 large shredded

  6. Capsicum - 1 big thinly sliced

  7. Spring onions - 1/4 cup chopped

  8. Peanuts - 2 tbsp roasted and roughly crushed

  9. Sriracha sauce - 1 tbsp (optional)

  10. Schezwan sauce - 1 tbsp

  11. Tomato ketchup - 2 tbsp

  12. Soya sauce - 1/2 tsp - 1 tsp

  13. Salt to taste

  14. Black pepper powder to taste

  15. Red chilli sauce - 1 tsp

  16. Lemon juice - 1/2 tsp (optional)


  1. When you put noodles for frying do not move them. It will form a cluster just leave it like that until bubbles disappear.

  2. If you like raw cabbage you can skip it while sautéing and add it raw while mixing.

  3. Serve it immediately after mixing otherwise it will lose its crispness.

  4. You can add fried chickpeas also. It also tastes good.


  • In a large plate spread your boiled noodles and add cornflour to them. Mix them and leave it aside for 5 mins.

  • Take a handful noodles and fry them in a pan until bubbles disappear. Do not stir them or move them. Turn the noodles and fry them from the other side for few mins.

  • Now in another pan add little oil add onions, carrots, capsicum and cabbage. Saute them for few mins until they are a little soft. Now add salt and black pepper powder. Add the sauces and mix it well.

  • In a mixing bowl add the veggies, roasted peanuts and roughly broken fried noodles. Combine them well. Taste it and see if any additions are required.

  • Serve it and garnish with spring onions.

Chinese Bhel is one of my favourites. Its very easy to make and everyone enjoys it as well.🥰
