Strawberry custard tart 🍓
This is an absolutely the most delicious tart i have had at home😍
This beautiful strawberry tart combines classic flavours and techniques to create a timeless showstopper.
INGREDIENTS-
The measurements for this recipe are really very important.
For the tart dough-
80g amul butter
1 tbsp oil
3 tbsp water
1 tbsp sugar
150g all purpose flour or maida
For the custard filling-
1 cup milk (3/4 cup separately and 1/4 cup separately)
1 tsp vanilla extract
4 tbsp caster sugar or normal powdered sugar
3 tbsp custard powder (either vanilla or strawberry flavour)
1⁄2 cup whipping cream
2 tbsp strawberry crush/Jam/ sauce/pulp
If using strawberry flavour custard powder, do not use strawberry crush/jam/sauce.
You can just grind few strawberries and use the pulp. I used ready made strawberry fruit topping.
Strawberry garnishes/ cutting as per requirement.
Melted chocolate- 2 tbsp or more if required.
PROCESS-
For the pastry-
In a saucepan heat together butter, sugar, water and oil.
Heat until the butter melts and everything combines together. Now add maida to this.
Keep mixing it until it comes together as a dough.
Now take your tart mould and using a spatula spread it evenly on the tin.
If using smaller moulds portion it equally.
Refrigerate it for 15-20 mins. Until then preheat your oven at 190 degrees C for 10 mins. Poke holes in your tart using fork so that it doesn’t rise while baking.
Bake the tart for 15-20 mins or until done at the same temperature.
For the custard cream-
In a sauce pan heat 3/4 cup of milk at a low flame and add vanilla essence.
In a bowl mix 1/4 cup of milk with custard powder and sugar. Mix it really well.
Add this mixture slowly slowly into the saucepan. After a while it will start to thicken and will look somewhat of this consistency.
Now take it off heat and cover it immediately with a cling wrap making sure it touches the surface of the custard. Refrigerate it until it cools down completely.
Do not worry of the custard becomes really thick. Do not add extra milk.
Now whip up the cream to stiff peaks.
Now take out the custard from the fridge and whisk it until its smooth. Fold this custard into the whipped cream gently.
Assembling the tart-
Take the melted chocolate and brush the tart completely with it.
You can use any type of chocolate for this. It will keep the tart away from sogginess.
Now pour the custard cream to the top.
Now pour your strawberry pulp/jam/sauce over it evenly and using the toothpick make a marble design by randomly moving the toothpick.
Refrigerate it for an hour. Top it with strawberry garnishes and decorate the tart as per your choice.
Tip- You can use any type of fruit to make this tart and decorate it however you want.
